If you need to hike a mile up a hill, a good plan is to show up before sunset starts. We didn’t follow that plan. Parking in the 86 degree, 90% humidity parking lot of Spencer’s Butte, the sun was fading fast.
But that’s okay. We got up there just in time for the gradients to start. Everything splashed in orange and purple, we caught our breath.
Thirty minutes later, the purple disappeared and the orange barely held on.
